An access log is a complete list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a certain website. Every file that was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have one webpage with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log shall contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log usually provides the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s OS, web browser and IP address. In some cases you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your site. The information that an access log file includes is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a PC and used to write reports on the efficiency of a website, independent of the web stats that your server may have produced.
Access Log Manager in Hosting
Enabling the generation of access logs will be really simple when you get a hosting from our company. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all of the accounts, features a section on different logs and that is where you'll find the access logs as well. As you navigate there, you'll see a list of all the domains hosted within the account and the subdomains created for them. Our custom cloud hosting platform will start generating an access log for any of them the instant you click on the On button, that you will see on the right. If you no longer need logs, disabling the option is just as quick and can be done by clicking on the Off button in the same exact section. All the logs are downloadable, which means that you can easily save and manage them on your desktop PC or laptop.
